Finding library holdings
To find books in the SRU Library collection, start your search using the UEA Library Catalogue.
Books and E-books
The best search option for finding SRU-specific books is ‘Books, Ebooks and Media’. Select this option, then enter a specific title or your chosen keywords into the search box and click ‘search’.
In the menu on the left side of the page, tick the ‘Sainsbury Research Unit Library’ box. This narrows results down to books held in the SRU Library.
If you find a book you are interested in, click on the title to open the full record.
The ‘Access Options’ box on the right side of the record contains information about where to find the book in the library. Make a note of whether it is on the main SRU shelves or in the Oversize section, and the classmark (the number underneath the location, which will usually begin with ‘NK’).
The plan below shows where these sections are located in the library:
Visit the SRU Library to find your books. If you wish to borrow them, please make sure you bring your UEA campus card with you.
Journal articles and other online resources
If you wish to conduct a broader search of all UEA materials, including online journal articles, use the ‘Search all’ option on the UEA Library Catalogue.
To access resources from this interface, click the access button in the record. This will either say ‘Access now’, which will lead directly to the resource, or ‘Access options’, which will open a drop-down menu with all available access links.
Print books may also appear in these search results. To view the record as described above, click ‘Access options’ then ‘View/Request in Books+’.
The SRU Library also holds a collection of print journals; see the plan above to find where these are located in the library. Print journals cannot be borrowed.
